La province de luxembourg est elle design ?
Is the biggest province of Belgium but also the least populated, receptive to the words design, concept, tendencies, eco-conception ? We often speak about tourism, the rural character or the green heritage of the province of Luxembourg but little regarding its creative potential. Interior designers, creators of furniture, architects or graphic designers, who are they and how do these professionals of design develop their activity in the Belgian region of Luxembourg ? What are the projects and the objects that impact our daily life and our environment ?
Along the three thematic routes : architecture, design and interior design, this exhibition offers to discover the ‘fashion’ side of the Belgian region of Luxembourg. A sometimes unexpected aspect and another side of the province which will prove that creativity is not the prerogative of great cities.
For the first time,’ une Semaine de l’Architecture’ registers in Brussels. For a few days it will spread out its representation of today’s architecture and what it at stake, through those who produce it. A clearly oriented approach towards meeting the «general public». On the initiative of the secretary of state in charge of the town planning of the region of Brussels capital, ’ une Semaine de l’Architecture’ will be held for the first time from the 13th until the 20th October 2013. The name: A. WEEK. For its first edition, A.WEEK wants to put in place a clear basis of what has to be a week of contemporary Architecture in Brussels by a juxtaposition of “pièces à conviction”. ’ Une Semaine de l’Architecture’ is not only the gathering of its participants, but also the encounter between architecture and its audience. Far from a new ‘conversation between architects’ A.WEEK presents the backstage of Brussels architecture to its audience, in a factual way.

Day of architecture
All over Wallonia and Brussels, architectural contemporary buildings will exceptionally open their doors to the public for guided tours by the architect and the owner, witnesses of a process and a daily life experience. This day will give you the possibility to discover new and atypical spaces, either cultural, equipment and public housing or private residence. This convivial event will favour meeting people and exchanges between architects and visitors, passionate about architecture or people wanting to begin a project. And will allow you to verify that architecture quality, environmental approach and comfort can go hand in hand. It will demonstrate that architecture only has a meaning when looked into, experienced and debated.
